East Bay: One Day... and lots of food and sentimentality!

This is a short update because we are supposed to be getting on the road at 6 am tomorrow (.....) but we had a lovely last day here.  I dragged everyone on last minute errands to send the last two boxes and the kitchen table that mom and I have had since we moved into our first apartment in 1986 (the sentimental value is pretty high, much like the shipping cost.)  Next we hit Everett and Jones BBQ which is one of my very favorite restaurants in Oakland to meet up with a friend from the aforementioned apartment days!  Here is mom and David after our delicious lunch and walk through Jack London square...

Thanks for coming all the way down to see us!

After we ran a few more errands and then hit Fenton's, ice cream restaurant extraordinaire.  Not only was Fenton's featured in Pixar's UP, it was also the very first restaurant where I ate on the very first night I moved to Oakland.  Anyway, here are the pictures from our Fenton's gorge fest:

Here we have the Fudgeanna, the Cookie Connection and the Saddleback Brownie.  I just had a very unexciting milkshake but it was a seasonal favorite: cherry vanilla.  Anyway, I'm still full and have to get up in about 5 hours.  This girl is signing out for now!

Check out all of the pictures here.

Night! Victoria
